Part 2: Great Games On Your iPad

© Veronica BelmontHere are some more hot games available to iPad users.
Flight Control HD
This was a great success on the iPhone. But Firemint to Flight Control to an even greater level with greater resolution graphics on the iPad. It's still easy to learn how to play the game and it's just as addictive as the phone version. You now track flight paths for planes and helicopters using your fingers and with the bigger screen, this becomes really just easy on the eyes. You also now have eight airfields, most of them coming in a higher-resolution format. And the bigger screen allows more room for two players to either fight with or against each other.
NOVA
Many games benefitted from the larger iPad screen and this is one of them. The bigger screen allowed for beautiful high-resolution graphics and a more intuitive interface in NOVA's iPad version. You see more of the graphical detail and less of your thumbs. You also end up playing this game at a more comfortable position so it's easier to catch faraway aliens. Other game elements are still the same as in the iPhone version, but that's a good thing. Thirteen levels of play and a rich multiplayer experience makes NOVA really worth buying!
Plants vs. Zombies HD
This is a unique $10 from PopCap Games. It combines gardening with the slaughter of the the undead. It's a great strategy game that make you plant peapods and sunflowers. Plants Vs. Zombies HD also supports up to 11 simultaneous touch points so you can plant, collect sun, launch corncob rockets, or grab coins even faster than you're able to on an iPhone or console.
Sam & Max Episode 1: The Penal Zone
Sam & Max take their unique brand of comic adventures to the iPad in the first episode of their latest season of ongoing adventures. The game comes with fantastic visuals and a great sense of humor. Sam and Max are a crime-fighting duo made up of an anthropomorphic dog in a trenchcoat and a crazed rabbit-like creature. Their escapades are filled with numerous absurd characters, razor-sharp satire, and unbelievable but hilarious plots. With the bigger iPad screen, the characters look and play better than ever. Nothing can quite compare to this game!
Words With Friends
Nope, this isn't Scrabble although it does look familiar to that addicting lexical word game. But Newtoy made some key upgrades over the board game for just $3. With the larger iPad screen, you and your online opponent, who may be three feet or three thousand miles away see the entire board from very easy angles without worrying about inadvertently jostling tiles. And now you don't have to stare at your friend's scrunched forehead as he struggles to find optimal Triple Word Score. Push notifications and in-game chat make this game truly friendly and truly an excellent mobile word game.

Disney's Alice in Wonderland Animated Movie

© taneilmanWhen Lewis Carroll penned the tale of a young girl who falls down a rabbit hole and stumbles into a mysterious world of imagination and adventure he probably never dreamed it would become the cultural phenomenon that it undeniably is.
Disney's Alice in Wonderland animated movie, like any other version of the classic story, has been celebrated by a variety of people for a variety of reasons. Many people adore its twisted visions and imaginary creatures.
Some like the way it hints at the young Alice's insanity along with a number of unconfirmed drug references. Its a play on the imagination for sure and offers a wonderful picture of an altered reality. Cats that smile, fly, and go invisible are only a start. Tarts and drinks that make you grow or shrink are a favorite. The famous talking caterpillar who sits upon a mushroom and smokes his hookah is definitely one of the more beloved characters of the tale.
While there are several different books, games, and films like American McGee's Alice or Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland live action film Disney's animated feature is still the most popular and most celebrated.

Disney's Bambi Animated Movie

© rynie1973If you were to ask a child of the 70s or 80s what was the first animated movie to make them cry you'd most likely get the same answer over and over again - Walt Disney's Bambi.
Disney's Bambi animated movie is essentially two stories cut right through the middle with the traumatizing death of a young deer's mother. The first half of Bambi is the telling of his birth and childhood. He was a very curious young deer who showed a lot of interest in the various creatures of the forest and loved his mother very very much.
It was his curiosity that led him to the meadow where his mother was shot by a hunter. The second half was of Bambi as a young buck maturing and learning the ways of nature by falling in love and starting a family of his own. Bambi is certainly a coming-of-age sort of tale and is told quite beautifully if not a bit too dramatically for small children of other sensitive viewers.
